It’s not you, it’s your guitar. You’ve spent years chasing a sound no off-the-shelf guitar gives you. Bull Skull builds that sound — the one that takes you back to another era.

The problem

You’ve tried everything.

  • You’ve swapped the pickups, set up the bridge, tried a thousand strings… and it still doesn’t sound the way you want.
  • Plugged in it sounds fine. But you pick it up unplugged and it says nothing.
  • You miss a guitar that vibrates against you, that feels alive before you play a note.

A Bull Skull responds to your attack, your touch, your silence. Woods dried for decades, hand-wound pickups and real relic. You don’t adapt to it: it answers to you.

The method

How do we build our handcrafted guitars?

Every guitar is made by hand and is the result of twenty years perfecting a process that cares for every detail. The goal: to bring the vintage sound of the finest guitars to today.

It all starts with the wood: bodies and necks from selected timbers dried for years, which is what gives the weight, the resonance and that sound you feel before you even plug in. We wind the pickups by hand, one by one, tuned to the character of each instrument. The finish is nitrocellulose —like the guitars of the 1950s— and the relic is real, aged by hand, not printed. And before it leaves, every guitar gets a full setup so it responds exactly to how you play.

«Simply the best of the best. I met Vicente after a few bad experiences with other luthiers. From there our relationship grew over time and he became my go-to luthier… until he built me my first guitar… love at first sight: the feel, the sound, the finishes and a tone that sounds like a guitar from the ’50s… today I’ve sold all my branded guitars and I enjoy my 4 Bull Skulls like crazy, plus pedals, and I’m waiting for one of his amps that will come along one day… and of course, I’ll never forget his incredible help during the DANA floods… gracies amic ❤️»

«What I value most about Vicente isn’t that he builds high-quality guitars, basses, pickups, amplifiers or pedals. It’s that he can explain why he makes each decision throughout the process.

He has a very deep knowledge of vintage instruments and gear, of materials, of electronics and, above all, of tone. When he talks about a wood, a pickup or a circuit, he rarely settles for the cliché or the usual mythology of the guitar world. There’s judgement, experience and many hours of listening behind it.

And when it’s a custom build, he takes the time to understand how each musician plays and what they expect from the instrument. That’s why I like a phrase that describes his way of working quite well: he doesn’t build instruments for musicians, he builds instruments for specific musicians.

In a field full of recipes, trends and opinions repeated by ear, it’s refreshing to find someone who listens, analyses and builds with intention.

P.S. I can’t promise it’ll be the last guitar you buy. We guitarists know how this works. But it will be one of the very few built specifically with you in mind.»

«I have two Bull Skull guitars and they’re wonderful. The first was a Telecaster-type guitar with very specific specs; Vicent made it in record time and far exceeded the sound I had in my head. Six months later I was taking him a Stratocaster-type guitar with the purest L-series sound — unbeatable. When it comes to setups and repairs I always bring my guitars/amps and they come back spectacular. The work they do at Bull Skull is flawless. 1000% recommended.»

«That’s now two basses I have with Bull Skull pickups, a jazz bass and a p/j, and I couldn’t be happier or more satisfied. Incredible tone and balanced output. I don’t want to play any other bass anymore — it’s the best sound that has ever passed through my hands. The service, professional and meticulous. Really satisfied with the work. I can’t wait to one day order a fully Bull Skull-built jazz bass….»

«Always a 100% positive experience. A great professional, attentive to detail and easy to communicate with. On top of that, he always advises you with your real needs for the instrument in mind. He services my amps and guitars (Fenders, ‘Shame on me’ 🤣). He’s now building me a T model and I can’t wait 🤩. He’s already on his 20th anniversary building amplifiers, pedals (odd ones) and guitars. And as far as I know, his guitars and amps deliver Tone through bands like Los Zigarros, Los Enemigos, Elías Maro, Juan Belda, La Perra Blanco, etc.»

«It’s a real stroke of luck to have a luthier like this close to home. I’ve already brought him a couple of guitars and in both cases the result was flawless. From the very first moment you can tell the professionalism, the knowledge and the care he puts into every instrument. Beyond the excellent technical work, he’s always warm, honest and professional.»
